They Posted These So I Don’t Have To

These are my favorite posts from around the web this past week.  In case you’re wondering how I choose my favorites, as I go through the blogs I follow through the week, I mark the posts that really catch my eye.  On Fridays, I go through all the posts I’ve marked and pick the five that I like the best (and that have images at least 480px wide).  Those are the ones I share!  No secret formula.  If I don’t find five, I’ll just post three or four.  But usually I’m narrowing it down to the five.

Today I have several room tours including this one, Eric’s Soothing Stripes on Ohdeedoh, which is may favorite nursery that I’ve seen in a while.  I know lots of you are going to love this one because of the yellow and gray color scheme.

Can I just put this Modern Boy’s Room with Transportation Theme from On To Baby right into my own home?!  I love how clean and bright it is and there’s so much incredible storage in this space.  Love it.

Design Mom posted a wonderful nursery tour in her post Living With Kids: Martina Ahlbrandt.  Lots of color inspiration to be had!

Look at the Birdie and Smile has been cranking out some really terrific product posts including this fun (Halloween appropriate) 4 of Friday: Cat Mobiles feature.  It’s a great roundup!

Finally, Small for Big had a great shop find in Soopsori’s On! Their toys will make incredible gifts for the holidays so I recommend you visit the shop soon!

Just a little reminder that this is the last weekend to cast your vote for the Totally Awesome Awards.  We’re thrilled to be on the list for “Most Awesome Nursery and Decor Sites.” What’s cool about voting in the Totally Awesome Awards is a) it’s really easy to do and b) you’re entered to win some fab prizes including the Grand Prize: a $500 Gift Certificate to giggle, 1st Prize: A Flip Video Camera (value $300) and 2nd Prize: A Large Organic Plush Winnie-the-Pooh (value $110).  I’ve voted in many of the categories and can’t wait to see the results!

Have a very fun Halloween weekend!  We’ll be carving pumpkins and having dinner with neighbors tomorrow– an annual tradition at our house– so I’m very excited for that.  Also, after Halloween, we’re going to be starting our Holiday Giveaway Series, so follow us on twitter and Facebook to be sure you don’t miss a chance to win any of our incredible giveaways!

Real Room Tour: Amelia’s Fabulous Fabrics

Amelia used the colors of her favorite cosmetic bag to inspire this nursery.  She paired the bright coral color with shades to gray to create a sophisticated yet fun space.

The exciting and inspirational aspect of this nursery is the combination of fabrics that Amelia used.  She paired the Elephant and Umbrella fabric and Geo Tile from Spoonflower.com with Duralee’s Smoke Scroll fabric for the canopy and the crib skirt.  The rug is a great coral shade and the crib bedding and seat cushion are more custom fabrics by Holli Zollinger from Spoonflower.

It’s not too often that you find a little seating area like this near the crib, but I can see this set up being very useful during “sleep training”. The antique chair was made modern with the bright coral paint job and fantastic fabric.

Coming Soon!: Stokke Bounce ‘n’ Sleep

I’ve been waiting to show you this one and thanks to Baby Chic 101, I’ve discovered that it’s now on Stokke’s US website!

The Stokke Bounce ‘n’ Sleep is a bouncer and daybed set but to get the whole idea, check out the video.

This is a really beautifully designed and highly functional product.  I’m going to call it the ultimate baby shower gift and I can’t wait to add this to our guides!  The only problem is, do I put it on the bouncer list or the bassinet list?

This should be available in the US and Canada next month (November 2011) and I’ll update this post with the price when I know it.

They Posted These So I Don’t Have To

These are some of my favorite posts from around the web over the past week.  You may have noticed I didn’t have a Friday link post last week.  That was because I didn’t find enough stuff to make it worth doing!  This week, thankfully, was a whole different story.  I have a full five links that are most definitely worth a visit.

Chalk + Dot put together another one of their awesomely fun nursery inspiration boards.  This time the theme is Up, Up and Away! A Superhero Nursery.  My favorite item is the comic shelf (#8) which unfortunately isn’t sold in the US.

It’s hard to believe that black and white could really make a beautiful nursery, but this “Room for Baby: Black and White Alright” on baby space has me convinced.  Between the wallpaper, bloom furniture and the egg chair, this room is more than just alright– I’ll say it was done right!

I’m not embarrassed to say I’m a fan of Sharon Montrose and even though coos & ahhs is having a busy week and needed A Pause, she was kind enough to let us know about the new Little Darlings series in The Animal Print Shop.  I’m in love with the Baby Monkey.  That’s a face I could look at every day!

Now you should be following Kickcan & Conkers, but if you’re not, you might have missed the beautiful, colorful cushions she found in P is for Pouf.

Last but not least is with two cats’ Nursery Idea Board No. 1: Neon Geometry.  I’ve been bookmarking neon items for weeks now but Lauren totally beat me to it.  She’s totally got some of my favorites in there and this board looks terrific!

I’m so looking forward to this weekend.  The weather is going to be incredible.  Today is the first day this fall that we’ve been able to open all the windows in the house up.  This is my FAVORITE time of year in South Florida!   It makes me so happy.

Something that will make YOU happy would be winning our lovemaki art print giveaway.  This weekend is your last opportunity to enter because we’ll be picking the winner on Monday!!  Pick one of these in the color combination of your choice:

Real Room Tour: Susan’s (Zuzia’s) Sunny Space

It’s been a while since I featured a nursery tour, so I was very excited when Kate sent me the photos of her daughter’s nursery.

This nursery makes me really miss DwellStudio’s Gio Lemon Crib Set.  While it’s still available in Aqua, this mustard yellow and purple color combo looks so fresh and feminine.

It’s a little hard to see, but there’s a sweet giraffe wall decal to the left of the crib.  It’s such a cute complement to the bedding.

The side table is perfectly accessorized with fun purple and yellow items.
