Rachel Zoe’s Nursery for Skyler

I’m sure everybody has already watched Rachel Zoe’s tour or her son Skyler’s nursery on ABC’s Primetime, but while everyone was busy oohing and ahhing over his extravagant wardrobe, I was checking out the furniture and accessories.

She must have been browsing buymodernbaby.com to pick the nursery furniture!  Here’s what it looks like.

1- Spot on Square Roh Crib- $1590

2- Oilo 3 Piece Crib Bedding Set (Cobblestone Motif – Taupe)- $399
Oilo Studio Taupe Band Throw Pillow- $49
Oilo Taupe Pillow- $59

3- Schylling Metal Speedster- $85

4- Hermes Avalon Blanket (H blanket)- $1225

5- Melissa & Doug Giraffe Plush- $75

6- Serena and Lily White Leather Pouf- $450

7- Offi Nest Bassinet- $1000

8- Spot on Square Roh Dresser- $1290

9- Oeuf Mini Library in Walnut- $660

10- For some reason (oops) I put a picture of a Grano Glider, though it’s a Luca Glider- $995 with the Luca Ottoman- $385

(updated 7/30) I found the monkey art that you can see on the wall.  If you’re interested, it’s Jeff Koons Monkey Train.

If you’re noticing a celebrity trend, Christina Applegate also used an Oeuf Library, Oilo bedding and Monte Glider in her daughter’s nursery!  They both also used pops of orange as an accent color.  Which room do you like better?

They Posted These So I Don’t Have To

These are some of my favorite posts from around the web this past week.

Smaller, the Small Magazine blog, posted this photo of Henrietta Swift’s Light Up Your Mood Light Switch Stickers.  These are just too fun not to share.  I’ve seen them before, but this display really makes me anxious to see them more widely available (or dare I suggest a DIY?!).

Babyology posted a fabulous 3 part series about “The Dashing Debonair and Crafty Fox”.  Loved it.  See part 1, part 2 and part 3 for tons of foxy products.

This list of Ten Creative Ways to Display Children’s Art on With Two Cats is wonderfully comprehensive and full of inspiration.

Bloesem Kids shared this amazing Kids room inspiration from France.  I love to see ideas that get us to think differently about our spaces.

Last but not least, this Robot Nursery on the itsy factor is adorable and totally fun.  My nephew would love it as he’s into robots right now :)

Feel free to share any other exceptional posts you found last week.  Have a wonderful weekend.

Rapson Rockers

Rapson Inc., who is now selling the iconic Rapson rocker, now has the Rapson Greenbelt™ Rocker and Highback Rapson Greenbelt™ Rocker in addition to the Rapson™ Bentwood Rocker.  If you want to invest in a rocker that will last a lifetime, these (expensive) beauties are worthy of your consideration.

New ABCs from Petit Collage

I love these wonderfully creative new alphabet posters from Petit Collage.  We’ve covered a lot of ABCs on BuyModernBaby, but I’ve never seen any quite like these.

Dress Up ABCs (from Apron to Zipper!)

Transportation ABCs (from Airplane to Zeppelin!)

You can order these prints for $40 unframed or $120 framed.

My Modern Nursery #46: Blue and Green Boy’s Room

This space was a reader request.  Courtney already picked out Serena & Lily’s Blake bedding collection and a white crib, but wanted to know how to finish off her baby boy’s nursery.  This is what I came up with.

New From The Land of Nod

Sigh.  I don’t even know where to begin here.  There is so much new and awesome at The Land of Nod (who I’m happy to have as an affiliate partner), that I truly just don’t want you to miss any of it.  I’m going to have to summarize and only include my favorites, but only if you promise to go see for yourself.

1) Maps and charts

I’ve decided that once we get my youngest into a twin bed, we’re going to add one of these schoolhouse type maps in his room.  There are several maps to choose from, but I’ve got my eye on “Oh, the Places You’ll Learn”.  This United States Pull Down Map goes for $249.

The Periodic Table ($119) may have to go in his older brother’s room at some point as well.

2. Art

The Land of Nod added some of my favorite etsy artists to their art catalog.

They’ve got a few more John W Golden prints including Share Your Toys and Play Nice.

There are two stretched canvases by Marisa Haedike– Keep Your Friends Close and The Buddy System.

I also love Got the World On A String and Bumper to Bumper by Blanca Gomez.

3- Bedding

The Land of Nod has some great new crib bedding collections (with the same designs for kids as well).

For boys, this Construction Zone crib bedding is super fun.  Designed by Winter Water Factory, this 100% organic set is exclusive to The Land of Nod.  The matching throw pillows like the Digger (shown), cement mixer and bulldozer are great additions as well.

The “Wooden Shoes Optional” Crib Bedding Set is a beautiful choice for a baby girl.  The pillow accessories, like the Girls Windmill Throw Pillow are adorable as well.  There’s also a worm, owl and snail.

4. Lighting

You can never have too many nightlight options so I’m excited that The Land of Nod just added two more to their catalog.

The Gnome Lamp Nightlight and Owl Nightlight are cute room decor items both night and day.

I was also really impressed with the catalog’s new format.  The Land of Nod catalog is always my favorite to look through, and now it’s even better.  Have fun shopping!

Etsy Find: Wondercloud

While browsing etsy for alphabet prints (a favorite pastime), I discovered the prints from wondercloud.  As you can imagine, I would say that this Cloud Poster ($20)  is their signature piece.

The Modern Alphabet Poster and Modern Bird Print are also worth a stop over to this lovely etsy shop.

Wondercloud is now listed in our new list of featured etsy shops.

Real Room Tour: The Top Dog

Jenny chose an orange gray and brown color palette and added some creative personal touches to decorate this wonderful modern boys nursery.

The Baby Mod Olivia Crib, Gus* Sparrow Glider and Maclaren Polar Bear Rocker were the only things she purchased new for the room.  Rufus, the sleek polar bear rocker, looks chic in any nursery and I was also excited to see the Sparrow Glider in this real nursery setting.  If I were doing our nursery all over again today, this glider would be my first pick, so I’m thrilled to hear that Jenny is happy with hers.

The orange bookcase was a $50 antique store find.  Some orange paint and baskets gave it a new life and added a modern personality.

The rug is a sweater rug from West Elm.  Coincidentally,  I picked this one out for a design board that I’ll be sharing later this week.  Reportedly it’s as comfy as it sounds!

The art wall arrangement is perfection and this ceramic dog is the icing on the cake.

The dresser is a refurbished Goodwill find that was topped off with a changing platform.  It’s a cost effective and eco-friendly nursery solution that is increasingly popular.

Jenny had the dogs silhouettes (representing the three dogs in the family) printed on canvas and stretched on a frame.  Talk about personal, custom artwork!  These look wonderful.

The awesome front-facing bookshelves were a DIY project.  These were made from some wooden pallets and were stained to match the crib and dresser.  They are one of my favorite features in the room!

Here you can see a fish-eye view of the entire room.  The pinwheel mobile was another DIY project that finished the entire space off perfectly.

You can see more of Jenny’s fine taste at her blog Holee Molee Hostess, where she shares party inspiration and crafts!

Thanks for sharing you incredible nursery with us Jenny!  I know you and your little one are going to love it for years to come.
