Happy Birthday to me! Yup, today is my birthday (I’m still not telling which one). Thanks to all of you who entered this special birthday giveaway. You had some great suggestions for new Mimosa products. I loved reading all your creative ideas!
The randomly generated winner of the Alphabet Print is Shelby B who is also interested in a tee with a cat or a tiger on it!

Congratulations Shelby! I highly recommend you go directly to Ikea and pick up a Ribba frame for your poster.
As a thank you for all the giveaway entries and for your fun product ideas, Mimosa will be offering FREE SHIPPING on all orders for the next two weeks! The free shipping ends on June 14th so now is a great time to shop. I LOVE free shipping and it frequently determines whether I go through with a purchase or not. There is no coupon code required– you will automatically receive the free shipping through June 14th. Let me know what goodies you snag!
I also want to mention that Mimosa is generously donating a Mimosa prize package to my son’s preschool fund-raising auction and I thank them for their great generosity and support on behalf of myself and the school.
New P’kolino Book Buggees
My list of favorite pull toys included the original Book Buggee from P’kolino, but I’m even more excited by these new designs!
The all new School Bus, Fire Truck and Crown Book Buggees are extremely fun and would fit in a variety of kids’ rooms and nurseries.

These will be released on June 15th and will retails for $38.50.
They Posted These So I Don’t Have To
These are some of my favorite posts from around the web over the past week.
First up, I love this Mermaid Nursery Mood Board by Brieanne on chalk + dot. From the wallpaper to the Matte Stephens print and the CB2 pouf, this is a look that I can really get behind. Very creative. Well done.

Real Room Tour: Handmade Charm In the City
I discovered this gem of a nursery on flickr and its owner and decorator, Mary Church Cornette, was gracious to allow me to share the photos of this sweet space with you as our latest nursery tour!
With that daybed with the quilt and shams, this is not only a comfy nursery for a tired parent, it’s a space that is ready for a little girl to grow into.

I love seeing the Stokke Sleepi bassinet just ready for its tiny occupant, Ava Mae.
The Flensted Sheep Mobile has a great view of the city through this wonderful window.

There’s another mobile over the bassinet. This one is a Flutter Mobile by made by mosey. This one is perfect for above the bed because it’s designed to be viewed from below. Keep that in mind when selecting a mobile to go over a crib.

The color of this wall is really speaking to me. It’s bright yet calming and I love how it looks with the wood tones of the furniture.

I’m a big fan of the elephant and bear prints from Yaelfran. Mary got her elephant head at mxyplyzyk (not a typo), but you can find it elsewhere as well.

The daybed is dressed with a skirt, quilt and shams from Pottery Barn and I have to direct your attention to that incredible cuckoo clock.

The ledges are populated with charming prints and softies. The prints on the upper shelf are from ashleyg and how can you resist the gray bunny, owl, bear, and blue bunny? The prints pictured below are by Mark Ryden.

This last mobile from Frazier and Wing is just perfect here because of the colors.

There is such an eclectic mix of items in this charming room and it all comes together perfectly. You should really go through the pictures carefully to discover all the wonderful items Mary selected for this space.
Congratulations Mary and thank you for sharing this inspirational nursery.
(If you would like me to feature your nursery here as well, please drop a line to esther@buymodernbaby.com I can’t wait to find the next real room tour!)

Etsy Find: Heavenly Creatures Art
If you’re looking for some sophisticated animal nursery art, I’ve found a great option for you. Helen Ann Marie Jones of HamjArt on etsy has some beautiful work.

She sells animal notecards, jewelry, totes and prints in her etsy shop, but you should particularly take a look at the 8 x 10 and 11 x 14 prints. My favorites are the parent and child pieces with a white background. They are sweet, simple and beautiful. You can choose your favorite or put together a grouping. These five prints are just a sampling of the collection.

Hippo Art- Papa and Bebe 8″ x 10″- $10
Alpaca Art- Madre and Bambino 11″ x 14″- $16
Elephant Art- Big Daddy 4 11″ x 14″- $16
Polar Bear Art- Polar Express 11″ x 14″- $16
Sheep Art- Mama and Bebe 11″ x 14″- $16
The only problem with these prints is that I don’t think she’s charging enough for them! You can learn more about Heavenly Creatures Art on hamjart.blogspot.com and stay up to date on her latest work.

New Addition: Cole Gilder and Bungalow Rocker from Nurseryworks
I promised to let you know when the new Nurseryworks rocker and glider came out and the time is now. I’ve added the Bungalow Rocker and Cole Glider to buymodernbabyseats and have a few new photos to share with you.
First up… the Cole Gilder…

The glider and ottoman are built with a plywood base and feature a slim silhouette at only 30″ wide (25″ for the ottoman). The ottoman has a little book shelf underneath. You can choose a light or dark base and one of three suede colors with or without contrasting piping. The glider retails for $700 and the ottoman is an additional $300.

The Cole Glider is almost like the Goodnight Glider used to be, but that one started at $1200 (not including the $620 ottoman). You might still be able to find a few of those out there. They’ll most likely be clearance (or ebay) items and could be worth finding if you’re looking for brighter, fun colors.
The next little beauty is the Bungalow Rocker.

The Bungalow Rocker is available with a Light Ash or Dark Ash base and in three suede colors. It retails for $800. You might have noticed me use it in a nursery design board several months ago!

I really liked the bright orange rocker that was shown in the Nurseryworks display at ABC Kids, but they are clearly going with some safer neutrals instead.
You can purchase both the Bungalow Rocker and the Cole Glider and Ottoman
through my Modern Nursery affiliate links.
Rich or Reasonable: Cloud Shelves
These cloud shelves would make for some really cute and creative wall decor.

The Cirrus Small Cloud Shelf (left) from iBride and designed by Benoit Convers is made of high pressure laminate. It ships flat and it assembles as a puzzle. It measures 27.5″ x 17.75″ x 8″.
The Cloud Shelf (right and pictured below) is a bit smaller, measuring 18″ x 8″ x 4″, but at 10% the price, I won’t complain. You can order the Cloud Shelf from RoomMates through our affiliate link. (found via ohdeedoh)

Hang it with some White Clouds Wall Decals and you’ve got a really cute arrangement.
Through May 31, buy the Cloud Shelf and White Clouds decals from RoomMates to get 20% off the decals with coupon code “CLOUDBUNDLE”!
Birthday Giveaway: Alphabet Print from Mimosa
Ariel and Holly, the sisters behind Mimosa, must have known about my love for alphabet posters when they contacted me to share their work. I was thrilled to discover their collection of versatile letterpress prints as well as their cute 100% organic tees and onesies.

This series of traditional three-color letterpress prints (8″x10″) covers many of the most popular nursery themes. At $20 a piece, they are wonderful gift items (and who says you can’t buy gifts for yourself?).

1- Ocean Print 2- Jungle Print 3- Forest Print 4- Arctic Print
What I really like about the animal prints (in addition to the great colors and cute creatures) is how the design reminds me of ketubah (Jewish marriage contract) designs. In fact, the way they are laid out would make for incredible ketubahs!
Of course, for me, the highlight of their collection is this Alphabet Print.

This print measures 19 3/4″ x 27 1/2″ and fits and looks fantastic in Ikea’s RIBBA frame.
So, my birthday is one week from today and to help me celebrate, Holly and Ariel will be sponsoring a giveaway of one of those incredible Alphabet Prints!
To win this print (worth $50) and help me celebrate my birthday (I’m not telling which birthday it is!):
Take a look at the products on ilovemomosa.com and then get creative. Think of what additional product you’d like to see… Do you want one of the posters but with different colors? Can you think of a print theme to expand the collection? Is there an animal tee you’d like but don’t see? Also share if there’s any existing product that is just perfect for you.
Be sure to enter your email address when you comment so that I can contact you if you are the winner.
The deadline to leave your comment and enter the giveaway is next Tuesday, May 31st, my birthday at 8 am.
The winner will be chosen randomly from among the unique entrants (just one entry per person). I’ll be posting the winner on my Facebook page first, so look out and like me over there. For a little extra good karma, like Mimosa on Facebook. You can also find them on twitter. The giveaway is open to US/Canada residents only. Good luck and tell your friends!
A Visit with Christiane Lemieux of DwellStudio
A great piece by Gestaleten TV that goes behind the scenes with Christiane Lemieux at DwellStudio‘s NYC office.
She talks about modern nursery design, shares some DwellStudio history, and gives a behind-the-scenes tour. My favorite part is Christiane showing some of the details of the Century nursery furniture. If you’re a DwellStudio fan, you’ll enjoy seeing this.
