Real Room Tour: Rainbow on A Rainy Day
If I had a girl, this is just the kind of room she would need. When I stumbled upon these fantastic photos on flickr, I couldn’t wait to show them to you. Michele put together a fun, colorful space for her daughter to grow up in. Have you ever seen a room with such dark walls that is so bright and cheerful? It’s like that special rainbow with a backdrop of an extra dark raincloud. Absolutely amazing.
The first thing that really jumps out is the colorful Granny Stripe Baby Blanket. Yes, Michele made this gorgeous piece herself and it was clearly the jumping off point for the rest of the room. Such beautiful inspiration.
I love seeing the Subliminal Baby Letterpress Prints from sycamorestreetpress used in a room, and the gray Oeuf Sparrow crib is super chic against the dark walls. The paint color is Iron Ore from Sherwin Williams.
I’m a big fan of Offi’s My Pet Lamp, and the Dachshund is my favorite. I may have to work on a Dachshund round up soon!
Michele used Blik’s Alphabet Zoo in this ultra creative changing area. How great is the chalkboard wall there?! I think that even my dad might be able to figure out a diaper change with everything labeled there 
.
I love the pop of red of the bookcase, and the mobile Michele knit may be the most awesome mobile I have ever seen. Can we please pressure her to open an etsy shop and share these with the world? The print to the right of the bookcase is Tutti Frutti by Hand & Eye. The Dream Menagerie Rug is from Anthropologie and adds great color and interest on the floor. Do not shy away from placing rugs over carpeting.

Etsy Find: doorst(um)p
One of my favorite etsy shops, cozyblue, has this adorable doorstop that looks like a tree stump. For $26, this lovely zippered doorst(um)p (6″x4″) can be filled with whatever you like. Fill it with rice or beans to make a doorstop or bookend. Fill it with poly-fil and you have a little pillow. So cute. I would love this for my own son’s bedroom!

My Baby’s Birthday
My first baby was born 5 years ago. It feels like just yesterday and yet it’s like he’s always been with us. He’s my original modern baby! He’s so full of fun and laughs and personality. He loves playing T-Ball (particularly on the day they get their trophies), he loves his brother (who got him his favorite gift of the day), he loves science (he wants to be a chemist and invent a vaccine to prevent the fever) and he loves building Legos.
It’s been a busy day– full of family, friends, cupcakes, ice cream, Legos and Thanksgiving shopping. Hope you all had a great day!

Coming Soon! Leander Dresser, Changer and High Chair
I got a glimpse of these at ABC Kids Expo in October, but I’m excited to tell you there will soon be a dresser and changing table to go with the popular Leander convertible crib. It should start shipping in January and will retail for approximately $1000.
The Leander changer is really beautiful as well. I think that with these new nursery pieces making it easy to put together a matching set, the Leander crib will become much more popular.
Also, keep an eye out for Leander’s high chair.

Etsy Find: Cute and Calm Prints from Yaelfran
Another front page of etsy find… I can imagine an entire nursery inspired by this pair of prints called “Breath away and I’m yours” for $26 from yaelfran’s etsy shop. The nursery design will have to be a project for another day– keep your eyes peeled because I can feel it’s going to be a gorgeous one.
