My Modern Nursery #28
I hope you enjoy this colorful boy’s nursery design board. I actually started with that awesome little play kitchen (#9) and used it as my color inspiration. DwellStudio Baby and Kids: Surrender to the Awesomeness
Make it easy on yourself and just go with DwellStudio. As if their collections of bedding, accessories, books, clothing, rugs, window treatments, art etc…. weren’t enough, they now have more– much more.
I previewed the new Century furniture collection at ABC Kids and these pieces are available now! The Century Crib and Dresser are offered in natural (shown), espresso, and white. The crib is $980, dresser $1080, toddler bed conversion kit $195 and changing station $250. You can order the entire Century collection at our affiliate Fawn and Forest.
DwellStudio is also offering a selection of gliders. The Thompson Glider on the left starts at $990 with the ottoman for $490. The Savoy Glider on the right is the same price and they are both available with numerous fabric choices. These are also available at Fawn & Forest.
I’m a huge fan of the new bedding sets, but they are part of an entire collection where you can mix and match pieces and accessories to design a room that can’t go wrong. One of my favorite new DwellStudio accesories is this line of fun frames. You’ve got to love that owl, and the bus frame will go on my wish list next to the bus bookshelf.

DwellStudio is a design force to be reckoned with for years to come. I think this year is their strongest showing yet and I can’t wait to see what they come up with next!
New Addition: Bamboo Vehicles from Hape
It’s been a while since I’ve added toy cars to buymoderntoys but these bamboo vehicles from Hape have been sitting in my bookmark folder waiting for some attention. Seeing them all in person at ABC Kids gave me the final push to put these in their rightful place on the list.
These durable bamboo vehicles are the perfect eco-toy to add to your holiday shopping or birthday gift list. There are six different models that retail for about $20-$25: E-offroader, E-plane, E-racer Le Mans, E-racer Monza, E-racer Suzuka and E-truck (available through my amazon affiliate!).
A Few Last Things To Look Out For: ABC Kids Expo 2010
This is my final post on my ABC Kids Expo finds and I have a few more things you have to see before I wrap up my Expo coverage for this year.
I really like these Baby Clic mini cribs- and the fun colors they come in.
Is this a dresser that goes with a Leander crib? Because I know people have been waiting for that!
I’m in love with this little child size chair I found in the Nurseryworks booth.
Jennifer Delonge has a number of elegant new gliders like this Grand Glider with Ottoman. The entire collection was really impressive.
Coming Soon! New Bedding From Oilo
It was a pleasure for me to finally see Oilo‘s product line in person at ABC Kids Expo last week.
Two really interesting things to tell you about. First, Oilo will be selling their bedding in regular mattress sizes! Why is this awesome? If you design your nursery around your Oilo crib bedding, when your child moves to a twin size bed you don’t have to redecorate- just get the same pattern in twin size! Also- if parents are using part of their bedroom as the nursery, the crib bedding and parent bedding can match. Great thinking!
So beautiful- and with an elegant matching headboard.
Oilo also has a brand new pattern called Sticks (I believe). It’s a gray and white set that I failed to take a picture of but you can see one on Project Nursery’s ABC Kids Expo Sneak Peek. In the second set of photos, it’s the top right.
Exciting Additions From Argington
Argington had a great showing at ABC Kids Expo last week and I am thrilled to share their new bedding and Bam Bam crib with you. Back in February, I was so excited by Argington’s new bedding collections that I designed my first nursery inspiration board around their Fish and Pebbles set. Now they have come up with three brand new bedding patterns that are all completely fabulous. To top it all off, they are all organic and if that’s not good enough, they retail for less than $200!
The other new product from Argington for 2011 is the Bam Bam Crib. A part of the Bam nursery collection, the Bam Bam is lower than the Bam Crib and features locking casters. Shown is a Bam Bam crib with Ginko bedding– looks good to me!
Lots of Fun In Store from Skip Hop
The Skip Hop booth was one of my favorite visits at ABC Kids last week. There was so much new stuff but I’ll just show you my favorites. I just wish I had taken more pictures (next year I am totally taking a photographer with me!).
I’m always on the lookout for cool bath toys so the Dunck ducks immediately caught my attention. Nesting, pouring, floating cups– what more could you ask for in a bath toy?!
Skip Hop is also expanding their bedding offerings with two new designs including this owl pattern that is part of the new Tree Top Collection, which I’m sure will be extremely popular.
Going along with the owl theme, these owl bookends (dog and monkey were shown as well) are too cute and are just some new decor accessories to look forward to.
The Tree Top Collection also includes this rather nice Activity Gym which would have made it into my play mat post from a few weeks ago.
Sometimes I get a little overwhelmed when it comes to diaper bags, but as Skip Hop is a pioneer in the world of diaper bags (we’ve got one!), I have to mention the new Bento Bag that will surely outlast the baby years. I always love a bag that dad can carry too.
